🍷 Beaufort’s 2024 Vintage from Vineyard to Bottle 🍷

Spring is the time we prepare to bottle the previous year’s Autumn harvest, and with two bottling days planned in mid-March, the cellar is buzzing with activity. Winemaker Steph Clarke shares her thoughts on last year’s weather challenges and what it means for the 2024 vintage:

“2024 was the coldest and one of the wettest growing seasons in the last decade—a challenging combination for ripening grapes in our already cool-climate region. The vineyard crew worked harder than ever to bring in healthy grapes under our organic certification. Lower sugars and higher acids meant a later harvest and a condensed winemaking timeline before bottling—a challenge, to say the least!

One of the beautiful things about winemaking at Beaufort is that we embrace vintage variation, experimenting with different blends and techniques to bring out the best in each season. The 2024 wines are a direct result of these conditions: crisp, refreshing, and carefully crafted using winemaking techniques that soften those bright acids. I hope you enjoy them. 🙂”
