Harvest 2021 is complete. All told, we picked ten varieties over four weeks, which made for quite a condensed harvest. A HOT summer, followed by a wet September, kept us nimble. Harvest windows were pretty tight, and we are grateful for our picking teams who showed up smiling, often at very short notice. THANK YOU! 👏👊💚

You know we have the hots for our vineyard and grape varieties, but our new apple orchard (yes—the one that we planted in the spring!) is already bearing fruit. 7 different varieties (a good mix of cider and eating apples) ripen at various times during the fall. So far we’ve pulled in Yarlington Mill, Miki Life, Dabinett, and Gravenstein; with Porter’s Perfection, Golden Russet and Aurora Golden Gala yet to go. 🍎🍏

That said, the Ortega is in; and the fruit is in great shape despite the deluges of recent days. At this point, we have harvested half of our 10 vineyard varieties; Ortega, Siegerrebe, Schonburger, Gewürztraminer and Petite Milo. The 5 that remain hanging (for now) are: Leon Millot, Lucie Kuhlmann, Marechal Foch, and the Pinots Noir and Gris. Getting there!
