***OUR TASTING ROOM IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2020 SEASON. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR OUR OFFICIAL OPENING WEEKEND DATES***
Do you have a tasting fee?
Yes. There is a $10 per person tasting fee at Beaufort. However, the $10 fee is waived when that individual purchases a bottle of wine. There is no tasting fee for Beaufort Wine Club members.
Can I bring a picnic?
Yes! Our guests are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy after their tasting. We can sell wine by the bottle and provide glasses and an ice bucket (if required). Feel free to bring a picnic blanket and/or your own camping chair as we may not always have enough garden furniture during busier times. Please note that our picnic area is entirely en plein air–there is no covered area in the event of rain.
How can I find out what wines will be available for tasting on a given weekend?
We typically offer a tasting of 5 wines on tasting days, and the lineup changes each weekend. If you would like to know what wines we are tasting on a given weekend, you can call ahead (on Fridays): 250-338-1357.
Do you take reservations?
During the summer, we offer tastings by appointment only for groups of 6 people maximum. We do not host private parties and functions.
Do you serve food at Beaufort?
We do not serve food at Beaufort. We do have some snack foods available for purchase in our wine store.
Do you have a lounge?
No. We do not have a lounge/lounge licence.
Are children allowed?
Yes. When accompanied by a parent or guardian, minors are allowed at Beaufort. Please do not leave children unattended. Beaufort is a working farm and winery and we prioritize the safety of all our guests.
Do you rent out winery spaces for private events/functions?
Thank you for thinking of us, but no; Beaufort does not rent out the tasting room or picnic area for private events/functions.
Can I vape/smoke at Beaufort?
No. Our entire property is smoke/vape free.
Can I bring my pet?
Only registered service or guide animals may enter the tasting room. If you have a small, well-behaved pet, you are welcome to keep them with you, on leash, on the deck or in the picnic area. Please pick up after your pet.
Are Beaufort wines suitable for vegans?
YES! We never use animal products or by-products in our winemaking.
Is Beaufort wheelchair accessible?
Door openings are 35.5″ minimum. The carpark, picnic area, winery, tasting room and washrooms are all one level. There is one threshold at the main entrance (1.75″ rise).
Why don’t you ship to my province/country?
Despite the federal government’s move to eliminate all barriers to interprovincial alcohol shipping in June 2019, there is still work to be done at various provincial levels to fully reform Canada’s prohibition era liquor laws. You can find an up-to-date list of the provinces we do ship to here.
We’re sorry, but we do not have a licence to ship wine outside of Canada.
Why aren’t you open all year?
Our team at Beaufort is small (but perfectly formed!). Our roles and responsibilities span all facets of the winery operation; from winemaking and vineyard management, through to tasting room work and sales outreach. We open seasonally, and only at weekends, because we are otherwise working in the vineyard or in the winery.
Do you offer winery tours?
We love to offer a winery tour as part of a regular tasting at no extra cost! As long as it’s safe to do so, and timing allows, we can include a tour of the winery/vineyard as part of a tasting.
