Harvest 2021 is complete. All told, we picked ten varieties over four weeks, which made for quite a condensed harvest. A HOT summer, followed by a wet September, kept us nimble. Harvest windows were pretty tight, and we are grateful for our picking teams who showed up smiling, often at very short notice. You know we have the hots for our vineyard and grape varieties, but our new apple orchard (yes—the one that we planted in the spring!) is already bearing fruit. 7 different varieties (a good mix of cider and eating apples) ripen at various times during the fall. So far we’ve pulled in Yarlington Mill, Miki Life, Dabinett, and Gravenstein; with Porter’s Perfection, Golden Russet and Aurora Golden Gala yet to go. 🍎🍏 … Here’s a roly poly apple jolly highlighting the varieties.
