General Information

There are so many ways to find out about BC Wineries, and about Beaufort Vineyard & Estate Winery in particular. The excitement around the rapidly growing BC wine industry and developing areas like the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island has been written up in numerous books and articles. A recent article by renowned wine writer John Schreiner in More Living Magazine May/June 2007 that talks about our vineyard and winery being a vineyard that is really pushing the wine region boundaries.

We appreciate the support of writers like John Schreiner who help to promote the wineries of British Columbia and specifically Vancouver Island & the Gulf Islands. John’s articles in various publications (including More Living) and his books generate such excitement about the fine wines being produced and provides guidance to the wine tourist on visiting wineries. This type of news is helping develop a thriving wine industry in BC. Check out up to date information about BC Wines in John’s book “British Columbia Wine Country” and his article in the “Canadian Wine Annual” (refer to Learn More for details of these publications).

We would also like to recognize chefs, fine restaurants and authors for their promotion of food and wine pairing and for their support of the BC wine industry in general. Wine is considered to be a fine ingredient in cooking and using good wine in your cooking really enhances the dish. A fine meal, paired with the right wine is a delight.

Todd Moore, a friend and winemaking consultant, has a novel approach to wine and food pairing – select the wine first, and then design the meal around it!. Troy and Cherly-Lynn Townsin have written a series of books on cooking with wine (notably “Cooking With BC Wine”) and we can say that we have tried many of the recipes with great success.
