Susan Vandermolen - Co-Owner & Winemaker

Susan was born in Chemainus, Vancouver Island, BC and still has strong family ties here with her Mother in Victoria (born & raised there), and sisters in Nanaimo and Campbell River.

Susan graduated from the University of British Columbia in Chemical Engineering in 1983. She worked in the petroleum industry in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta, then Houston, Texas, and the finally in London, England. Her career began in oilfield facility design and oil & gas reservoir development. The last 14 years of her career focused on the management of Environmental Protection, Safety, Health and Security for large international construction projects.

Susan’s background in Chemical Engineering has helped make the leap from 25+ years of home winemaking experience to now 4 successful commercial-scale vintages. Rumour has it that she prefers playing around with her lab equipment just a little bit more than weeding in the vineyard.

Todd Moore - Winemaking Consultant

Todd Moore is an "on-call" part the Winery team at Beaufort. In our early days, Todd helped guide equipment choices and fine tune our first commercial vintage plans, but is now a "sounding-board" and consults on winemaking issues on an as-needed basis.
