Jeff Vandermolen – Co-Owner, Vineyard Manager, & "Marketing Guru"

Jeff was born in Hamilton, Ontario and moved west at an early age - the moment he caught sight of the Rocky Mountains, he was hooked! On the academic front, Jeff started a business degree at McMaster University, then moved to Vancouver to continue in Geology at Simon Fraser University, then completed a diploma in Natural Gas & Petroleum Engineering at BCIT. Yes, it was a roundabout route! After a few years working as a petroleum technologist in the oil fields of northern Alberta, Jeff decided to complete the circle and finish his business degree, receiving a Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing/Finance, at the University of Calgary.

Jeff worked in various energy commodities trading, marketing, and business development positions in Calgary, AB, Houston, TX and Atlanta, GA. Following that, he worked for a start-up e-commerce company in London, England that were establishing the first web-based exchange for air cargo capacity. He also obtained a teaching certificate, sponsored by Cambridge University, to teach English as a second language and enjoyed a stint of teaching English, to newcomers to Britain, at a college in west London.

Corporate life now behind him, he is enjoying the farming life, but refers to himself as an "agri-preneur" and a "marketer with a farming habit". Although having been an instrumental player in 6 prior business start-ups,  the Beaufort Vineyard & Estate Winery project is by far the most personally satisfying, and has only just begun!
